The second study was published in ISRN Pharmacology titled “An Open-Label Pilot Study to Assess the Efficacy and Safety of Virgin Coconut Oil in Reducing Visceral Adiposity”

Conclusion: The high concentration of MCFAs (medium chain fatty acids) are found in virgin coconut oil which in the study had shown beneficial effect in reduction of waist circumference.

Forty-nine overweight men and women, aged 19-50 years old, consumed either 18-24 grams/day of MCT oil or olive oil as part of a weight-loss program for 16 weeks.
