If you have been paying attention to recent beauty trends, you might have come across something called micellar water. While it seems new, it has actually been around for  many years, previously one of the only beauty treatments people used on their skin.

About Micellar Water

First of all, it helps to know what micellar water is so you can decide if this is a good  option for you or not. Micellar water is not by any means a new concept, even though it has gained popularity recently. It is nothing more than cleansing oil located in very small balls, which are suspended in purified water. It works by removing impurities from the skin without drying it out thanks to these balls of oil. It can be used as many different beauty products for the skin all at once, which is why it is so popular, especially for traveling.

Using it for Cleansing

The first way you can use micellar water on your skin is simply cleansing. Wash your face each morning using the water, and you will have a gentle and refreshing way to wash your face. Whether you have dry, oily, or combination skin, micellar water can be great for you. It is a good option if you are in a rush and can’t go through your normal cleansing routine, or if you accidentally left makeup on overnight and want an added step to your normal face washing routine.

Removing Makeup

Speaking of makeup, you can definitely use micellar water to remove makeup. This is typically going to be a step you do before washing your face with other cleansers in the evening.

It helps to break up the makeup and get rid of as much as possible, so that your regular facial cleanser doesn’t have as much work to do. Replace other makeup removers with the micellar water, adding it to a cotton swab or cotton ball to remove all your makeup first. You will be amazed by how well it works.

Post-Workout Cleanser

Your face is sweaty and pores are often opened after a workout, so you definitely don’t want to just let it sit that way all day. This is often what leads to acne and breakouts. If  you don’t have time to go through a full cleansing routine, you can always just rinse your face using a little micellar water.
