Tooth pain can leave you feeling miserable because it affects your entire face. You feel swollen, sore, and it can lead to tension in the neck as well as migraines. Severe tooth pain can even cause you to need emergency assistance and possible surgery.
If you are experiencing tooth pain that can wait a few days until you can see a dentist, then you may be looking for some natural ways to dull the pain or at least make it bearable. Here below are a few of those methods.
Clove oil is the go to holistic remedy for tooth pain. It is on nearly every list for how to stop toothaches and there is a reason. Clove oil, in pure essential form, will numb the area and reduce infection. It is an all-in-one. It will stop the inflammation, reduce the pain, kill the bacteria, and give you some relief without the use of painkillers and chemicals. The trick to clove oil is getting a therapeutic grade oil. You do not want to skimp on this and you do not want to go with one that is cut with other oils. A good way to make sure you are getting pure oil is to look for dark bottles and the Latin name of the plant or herb on the bottle. This will help reduce the chances that you are getting a bad oil.
Black Tea Bag
It may sound odd, but if you already drink organic black tea it is likely you have what you need in your pantry right now. A simple black tea or loose leaf black tea can help with inflammation and help reducing some of the pain you are feeling.
If you are using loose leaf tea, you will need a muslin tea bag. If you are using a bagged tea then you are ready to go. Brew the tea and allow the brewed tea to cool slightly. You are trying to release the tea and make it easy to place on your tooth. Once this is down, place the tea bag on your tooth and allow it to sit for several minutes. You will need to do this several times a day to keep the pain down.
Bourbon and Cotton
It may sound strange to bring alcohol into the mix, but alcohol can have several medicinal properties and one of those is to reduce pain. It has been used for centuries to reduce pain for small pain issues all the way to larger pain problems and even emergency surgeries. If the clove oil is not working, the tea bags are not working, or you have neither in the house then consider bourbon and cotton. Take a cotton ball and soak it in bourbon. Place the cotton ball on the area. It will disinfect the area and help reduce the inflammation. It will also numb the nerves reducing the pain.
Keep in mind that these methods are not meant for severe issues such as an abscess. If you notice that you are having issues with foul tasting fluid or drainage from the infected area or if you are feeling light headed and dizzy with the pain, you need to seek emergency medical attention. These remedies are strictly to help you get by until professional assistance is available.
It is always a good idea is to use a hair mask, aiming for about once a week or so. This will cleanse your hair follicles and moisturize your hair, so that it is left silky and smooth no matter how much swimming or sunning you do. Here are some super simple hair masks you can try out.
Use Coconut Oil Alone
The first hair mask is something you might have already heard of before. This is when you use just coconut oil as its own hair mask. Yes – you can definitely add coconut oil to your hair on its own!
Coconut oil is all-natural, healthy, and moisturizing. It helps with shine, reduces tangles, and gives you soft, silky hair you love to run your fingers through. When using coconut oil as a mask, always use unrefined, virgin coconut oil.
Add Some Lemon Juice
Another coconut oil hair mask is one that adds in some lemon juice to the oil. This is going to help reduce dandruff and buildup on your scalp.
If you see white specks on your scalp or when brushing your hair, you probably have some buildup or dandruff. You need something that will lift it from your scalp so that you can wash it away while shampooing.
Lemon juice works great for this, while the coconut oil provided a healthy base for the mask.
Make a Honey Hair Mask
If you have dry or damaged hair, you’ll need something thick to add to your hair mask. This is where honey comes into play. As with all natural beauty products, you should be using raw honey, not the sugar-filled honey you find in your local grocery store.
To make this hair mask, use your raw honey with a little olive oil, and that’s really all you need. You can also use coconut oil that is melted if you prefer. Leave it in your hair for about 10-15 minutes before rinsing out.
Use Avocado for Shine
For some added shine, you can try making an avocado hair mask. This hair mask provides shine and increases protein in your hair follicles with the egg yolk. All you need is one egg yolk and half of an avocado mashed and mixed with the yolk. Scoop the ingredients and add them to your hair, really applying to your hair down to the tips. Leave it in your hair for a few minutes while in the shower, then rinse out.
Hair is made of keratin, the same protein that makes up your nails and the outer layer of your skin. The part you see and style is called the hair shaft. It`s actually just dead tissue made by your hair follicles tiny bulb-like structures beneath your scalp`s surface. It is best not to use artificial colors or chemical preservatives when you are dealing with thinning hair. What you put on your hair should be sulfate free. The purer the products that are used, the better it will be for thinning hair. Continue reading “Tips for dealing with thinning hair and hair loss”→
